the state of me

I finished Aimee. It turned out to be really good. Really moving and the writing was almost completely believable. There were a couple of spots, right at the end, where the writer broke the voice of the sixteen year-old narrator, which was annoying because it was at the end. Her biography on the book jacket says she has three kids, I think. And I assume it was her first book because no others were listed so I thought, well, I guess it's a mistake of a first-time author. But then I thought, where was her editor?

The book design, however, was flawless. And I was really happy to see the designer get her name credited. I can't remember her name right now, but I think that's really nice that the publisher did that.

I hope I never lose my teenage voice.
