Okay here I am at the hospital in my very nice room that looks out over the Capitol building and I can even see my apartment building situated snuggly in the middle of my view. I also, for those of you taking notes, saw My Wife is an Actress, The Good Girl and bonus movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. All were good. I think, if I had to see one again, I'd see The Good Girl, because it made me think the most and feel the most and I guess I had the strongest reaction to it. My Big Fat Greek Wedding was very funny and I liked My Wife is An Actress because I love the actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. She starred in the 1996 version of Jane Eyre and I've been a fan ever since. In this new movie she looked so beautiful and was so charming and delightful it basically made the movie worth seeing. Unfortunatly for those who don't love Charlotte (her character in the movie--she was basically playing herself as was her husband, writer/director/actor Yvan Attal who wrote, directed and acted in this movie) the film was also filled with characters who were so annoying I could barely stand them. It is a French film and Yvan's pregnant sister smoked in EVERY SINGLE SCENE she was in. It made me insane! Not to mention, I kept wanting to tell her to shut up.

So yes, anyway, the surgery went well--and I will get into details later because a few things did happen that are of note, but for now all I want to say is that I know I am doing well because I already want to go home and I am already starting to get grumpy with people. Usually the grumpiness doesn't start until the last day or so. And this early on in the hospital stay I usually still feel it's necessary to be here, but I don't. I've done this routine so many times I know the drill and I know how to take care of myself. And I don't even need to take care of myself all by myself because I am going home to stay with my family until I am all better. See? Right? Ready to go!
